As most of the Western world seems to know, Coachella is going on right now. I've never been to Coachella and honestly I've never had much desire to go. I love the idea of festival style concerts and I'm enamored with the boho fashion that we've all come to know and love from Coachella, Lolla, and others...but I know I wouldn't do well in a large crown of drunk and on drugs millennials running around listening to DJs. It's just not my scene. Although, I do plan on trying to go to Coachella next year; mainly because I feel like it's one of those things I should at least TRY because...who knows? Maybe I'll love it. Either way, I decided to honor Coachella from a
safe distance in Chicago this week with some major festival style, boho vibes. CLICK READ MORE FOR MORE.
We had a series of warm days in Chicago so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to bust out my new crochet detail romper. I snagged this baby up for under $45, and it fits me amazingly! I normally have a hard time with rompers because I am 90% legs and rompers tend to fit me rather uncomfortably. This one fits like a dream, has pockets, and is the perfect level of boho vibes for me.
It was still a little chilly out when the wind would blow, so I layered a metallic gold and white striped cardigan over the romper. It's a light knit, so it breathed well. Keeping with my Coachella inspiration, I just sort of let the oversized cardigan hang off of my shoulders and fit how ever it felt like holding on at the time.
I wanted the outfit to look rather "thrown together" in a casual "I don't really care" boho fashion. I accessorized simply with a single gold tassel necklace and a pair of cheap aviators from Target.
We spent the whole weekend just lounging in the sun on a rooftop; listening to music and enjoying time with friends while soaking up some Vitamin D. It was my own personal Coachella, and I loved every minute of it. I may have to give this whole boho thing a go more often.
