I've already mentioned that I'm not getting fancy for Valentine's this year. We are cooking at home and having a movie marathon all day on Saturday. I don't get to see my boyfriend often since we are in different states so I would rather just spend the time together at home instead of shouting over strangers in a restaurant or bar. Even though we aren't getting all fancy for vday, I wanted to show you a fancy vday outfit option. Trust me, I'll find a night to get fancy and rock this look. I'm always up for getting fancy fancy. Y'all know that by now.
It's still pretty chilly here, so I layered a cute black pussy bow (which Glamour has recently renamed the "CEO bow...LOVE!) under a sleeveless floral dress. I threw on a lightweight blush trench over it. Since it's a Valentine's look, I wanted to keep it feminine, which is why I went with soft colors such as blush. Top it off with a bow and you have the perfect feminine chic look.
I've somehow managed to convince myself that if I wear florals and pretend like it's spring, then spring will arrive. Sort of a "if you build it, they will come" Field of Dreams approach..except I'm trying to bring a field of flowers and warm weather to Chicago instead of a baseball field. Heck, we already have two of those. As creatives and entrepreneurs, we are told to visualize the reality that we want and then go out and make it happen. So why can't I try and do that with spring? Hear that, Mother Nature, I'm coming for you.
Here's some of the floral items I'm crushing on right now:
