Wrap dresses are easily one of my favorite things to wear. I'm telling you, that Diane von Fursteburg is a genius. There is something about a wrap dress that makes the wearer look so feminine, soft, and powerful at the same time. This purple maxi wrap dress is easily one of my favorite dresses of all time. It's the perfect spring staple, and can be dressed up for an event (helloooooo rooftop parties) or dressed down for a casual outing (zoo, anyone?).
This wrap dress is such a statement all it's own, that I didn't want to overwhelm the look with other accessories. For jewelry, I went with my favorite simple twinkle star necklace from Sparkle and Whim and that's it. I kept it simple with the shoes, too. They are grey with black piping; pretty on their own, but subtle enough to let the dress be the star.
Unfortunately, DVF doesn't make this exact print anymore, but one of the benefits of Diane's clothing is that the silhouettes are almost always the same. She has this exact cut of dress in so many vibrant, and fun prints! And if you're like me and don't have the $600 to shell out for a wrap dress... both Last Call and Gilt always have amazing deals on DVF dresses. I actually got this one at the DVF outlet.
Haha, side note... notice the slight look of fear in my eyes in this bottom picture? That's because I live in the WINDY city. The only downside of wrap dresses is that one strong gust of wind means that the whole neighborhood sees the good china. I certainly don't recommend them on a very windy day unless flashing people is your thing.
