This holiday season, I had the wonderful opportunity to have my own popup retail location inside of Block 37 in Chicago. It was incredibly rewarding, and even more exhausting, haha. Even though having my own retail store in addition to my online store was amazing to have during the holidays, it meant I was able to travel back to Texas to see my family. I haven't been home since June, and I'm really starting to miss my family...and Whataburger.
Luckily, I'm finally getting to go home at the end of January! I can't wait to share all of my Texas travels with you! And my mom even got me this fabulous DVF vintage inspired carry on luggage for Christmas. I think she was dropping some serious hints, y'all.
I really hope this suitcase inspires me to travel more. I absolutely love traveling. It's one of my favorite things to do, but I don't get to do it very often. As much as I love being a #GIRLBOSS, sometimes I get a little too caught up in my work and forget to do the things that I enjoy beyond running my online store. Don't get my wrong, my store provides me with so much joy and it's my passion....but I'm starting to realize that it's okay to have passions beyond work. So for 2016, I want to try and spend time cultivating and enjoying some of those other passions... like traveling! Maybe this will be the year that I finally get to travel out of the country. *fingers crossed*
When I do get ready to travel to both new and familiar places, I know I will have the perfect go-to travel ensemble! Between my new suitcase and this amazing Take Me Away sweater, I'll be able to tackle the airport in chic style while also remaining comfortable. The sweater is fleece lined and super soft. I paired it with some tights, a body con skirt, and some comfortable boots. It's perfect for relaxing on a plane while still looking chic.
