Style Session: Plaid Cape

This weekend The Trendy Sparrow participated in the One of a Kind Show Chicago. It was so wonderful getting to meet so many new people and amazing customers. I loved seeing people who knew the store and follow me on Instagram! Thanks so much to everyone who came!

I always love to dress up for the OOAK show; especially channeling my inner Blair Waldorf. In only made sense that a fancy cape was in order for such a fancy show!

I loved the black, white, and red patten of this cape. It's very subtle, but makes a statement. The way the black and white plaid intersects gives it the appearance of grey. I added this forest green sweater underneath it to give the look a very natural yet festive vibe!

Of course no outfit if complete without the right accessories. I added a bold red lip to make the look seem even more holiday festive. Plus I always just love a good bold lip color. I finished my outfit with this very simple black necklace from J.Crew and some arm candy from SeeSongDesigns and Allison Cole Jewelry (use promo code LINDZI for 15% off).

One of my favorite things about doing the OOAK show and having our Block 37 pop up shop is that I get to spend everyday in downtown Chicago. It's such an amazingly beautiful city that I can't help admire the look of it every time I'm there. Maybe I'm the less mean Blair Waldorf of Chicago?

  1. Capes are an amazing garment for spring and autumn when it is a bit colder but not too much cold. I am a big fan of them. I actually managed to sew one for myself that can be seen on my blog.
