Apparently I've been all about the black and white lately. Maybe it's the weather. Maybe it's because you really can't go wrong with black and white. Either way, it seems to be my favorite color combination right now.
We've been having some nice weather in Chicago. It's been unseasonably warm here at about 50 degrees. I've been able to get away with just a few layers rather than a big marshmallow puff coat (which...yay!). I'm from Texas originally, and I'm still not used to this whole "winter" thing...
so 50 degrees is much more my speed.
I wanted to wear one of my favorite bow sweaters from our store. Since it's fleece lined, it keeps me so comfortable and warm. I layered it over a black polka dot shirt to keep with the black and white motif, but played around with the patterns. Plus polkas + bows = perfectly preppy chic! It's definitely a Blair Waldorf move. I added my absolute favorite herringbone puffer vest from J.Crew Factory on top for some additional pattern! I love that the vest has gold hardware. It helps it "pop".
Finally, I ended the look with a pop of red lip and my favorite white druzy drop necklace (available at our popup shop).
I know this isn't fashion related, but can we please talk about these lights? Chicago is so freaking pretty during Christmas. I can't get over how much everything is lit up and beautiful. I love having my popup shop, but I do wish I had more time to really see Chicago during Christmas time. This is down by the theater district over by our popup shop, so if you're in Chicago swing by there just to look at how beautiful and glitzed (that's a word) up the lights are. Take some time to stop shopping and look around. Be present in the moment. Christmas is more than presents, it's about that feeling you get inside that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy because you know that at any moment something magical might happen.
Happy Holidays everyone!
