Style Session: a sparkly spin on menswear

One trend I've been truly dying to try is the oversized menswear look. I literally wanted to look like I rolled out of bed wearing my boyfriend's clothes...but with a really chic twist.

Did anyone else used to watch Entourage when it was on HBO? Think of pretty much everything Sloan used to wear!

I knew the look I wanted to go for, but I just needed to find the perfect oversized blazer and the perfect extremely distressed and loose boyfriend style jeans. As luck would have it, I was able to find both over at Akira! And on SALE! Seriously...if you're in Chicago, run over to the one on Diversey now! They have a majorly awesome sale going on.

But then the question became...how to chic it up? I found this adorable French Connection sequined shirt at Last Call, and I planned on using it for another look. But I tried it on while wearing the jeans...and loved it! I think the huge contrast is so chic and perfect.

Can't forget to add the heels and clutch! As for my hair, I wanted something simple and slick. I went for the flat iron and just let it be simple. I also really want to try this look with a sassy updo/ponytail!

The more distressed the better! For me, these jeans were all about fit and the distressing. I like that they are super distressed with lots of holes, but more importantly I love the fit. They are loose at my legs, giving me that boyfriend feel, but they are still fitted at the waist so they don't sag! Nobody likes a saggy butt! Yes...yes, I really did just say that.

So what do you think of the look? Would you try it?

I also decided to try the look without the blazer for a more casual day look. Gotta say, I love it! Even the guy who picks up our packages for The Trendy Sparrow said he loved my outfit!
