A couple weeks ago, I was invited to preview the summer opening of the Randolph Street Market here in Chicago. This street market is one of the largest urban flea markets in the country. It provides all sorts of vintage and flea finds from clothing, to home decor, to jewelry - and even includes a few handmade artists as well. I love going to this street market and actually furnished a lot of my apartment with items from there last year (see the DIY nightstands I flipped), and was honored when they asked me to attend.
As a blogger, I was asked to select my favorite pieces from the show and mark them with a green ribbon - indicating to other shoppers that these are fabulous finds! But why should they be the only ones to see?! I wanted to you all to get a glimpse into my top picks from the weekend. I wish they all could have come home with me!
(I even tried to buy a dresser for an apartment that I definitely don't have yet....)
Here are some of my top picks...
You guys have NO IDEA how much I wanted to bring these home for my future office! I just don't have the storage room for them until I move in August :(
This little storage unit is sold by the same ladies who I purchased my nightstands from last year. After seeing my blog post, they actually made a dresser inspired by my project!
They can be found on Facebook.
So many awesome goodies at the market, and way too many things that I want! So the big question is...did I actually buy anything?! YOU BET!
I had a MAJOR CRUSH on all of these suitcase speakers from Hifi-Case! The seller finds vintage suitcases and repurposes them into speakers. You can even plug your iPhone into them! And they can run on battery if you want to take them places. I bought the small gold one in the right corner. It was named the "Audrey" after Audrey Hepburn, so you know this one of a kind piece just HAD to come home with me. HiFi Case also has an online store!
This adorable little guy (I named him Rupert) is now the guardian of my desk. These adorable animals are also succulent planters. How stinking cute?! This Austin based company, Plaid Pigeon, can also be found on Etsy. I
maybe definitely bought 3...
If you live in Chicago or are visiting this wonderful city of ours, I highly recommend making a trip to the Randolph Street Market located in the West Loop neighborhood (home to some of my absolute favorite restaurants in the city!)
Check out my Etsy Store, The Trendy Sparrow, for wedding paper goods and chic art prints & mugs.
Thanks for reading, dolls! Come back for more!
