Outfit of the Day: Preppy Emerald Green

Green has always been one of my favorite colors. I've always wanted green eyes. It's part of the reason my hair is red...goes well with green. And it's one of the reasons I love Christmas so much...green! green! green!

I bought this coat the moment I saw it, right off the rack because it was the most beautiful shade of green I've ever seen + it has metallic gold hardware. This post is a culmination of three things: my green obsession, my deep love for Blair Waldorf, and The Everygirl November challenge (discussed in my last outfit post). Just a refresh, the challenge is all about finding old items in the back of your closet and revamping them into new outfits. This post features my Kate Spade plaid skirt from 3 years ago, and my Banana Republic gold diamond button up shirt from a year ago that still had the tags on it. (Don't give me that look...you know you have items with tags from years past in your closet...it's the curse of being a girl.)

I wanted to combine both of those pieces together with some newer items to put together an updated Blair Waldorf look for 2014 while also indulging my love of green.

As you guys know, sometimes I like to include silly outtakes...this is by far my favorite.
While we were taking pictures, a little squirrel came up and stood really close next to me...it's like he wanted to be in the photo. What a stylish little squirrel.

Where to Buy these Items:

Sweater: J.Crew // Shirt: Banana Republic // Skirt: Kate Spade (forever ago)
Boots: Target (forever ago); Similar here.
Necklace: J.Crew (no longer available; similar here)
Coat: Michael Kors (similar here...I got mine at Marshall's)

  1. Hi Lindzi! I love this ensemble, that Kate Spade plaid skirt is a winner! It's great paired with a button down shirt as well as oversized sweater (for that cool girl look). Glad I came across your blog through WCBC, it's great to meet another Chicago blogger! Hope to meet you in person at future events! xo~ Lena
