How to Diy Chic Nightstands for under $100

I'm so excited to share today's DIY project with all of you! As some of you know, I recently moved into a new apartment and I'm trying to decorate it chic and high-end looking without breaking the bank! To help achieve that goal and stay with a strict budget, I purchased a lot of items at a flea market with the intention of redoing them. (You can see all of my flea market finds here.) The best part is I was ultimately able to get 2 high end looking nightstands for under $100 total!

The first DIY flea market flip I wanted to share with you are my nightstands! My bedroom is decorated in gold, white, blush pink, and mint. I wanted to redo the nightstands I found at the flea market to resemble the chic, feminine look I am trying to achieve in my new space. I hope you will feel inspired to redo your own nightstands now!

Here is how you DIY chic nightstands for under $100...

Materials you will need:
 - 2 nightstands (I purchased 2 items that weren't actually nightstands at a flea market for $90 for both)
 - paint (I used a pint of Valspar's Four Winds)
 - accent paint
 - painters tape
 - measuring tape
 - paint brushes
 - patience!

Step 1: Purchase some adorable bases. I got these at a local flea market in Chicago for less than $90

Step 2: Sand down the original paint and edges

Step 3: Use painters tape to create a pattern (if you choose). I decided to create 1" spaced rectangles.

Step 4: Paint the nightstands. I did 3 coats since I was using white on a dark surface.

Step 5: Peel back the painter's tape to reveal your pattern.

Step 6: Paint the pattern. I chose to paint it gold. It took almost 6 layers to get it the right color.

Step 7: Get excited because you have some new amazing nightstands!

What DIY projects are you working on right now? I'm so exited to share with you more of my flea market flips!
