My Denver Vacation

I'm incredibly late at posting this wonderful vacation, but better late than never. During Easter weekend my best friend, Drew, and I went to Denver for a vacation! We were both sick of the unrelenting Chicago cold weather and needed a chance to wear shorts! I told him to just pick somewhere and we will go. He landed on the Mile High City of Denver, CO. I have to say that after just a few short days in Denver, I really want to go back! It's so beautiful there, and they have so much to do! It's the perfect place for an artisan/baseball fan like myself! So away we go...

Drew, being the giant history nerd that he is, wanted to visit the state capital. I must admit the architecture was gorgeous! And visiting the Senate room made me feel like Frank Underwood...without the whole evil part.

Of course, we are both huge baseball fans (Go Rangers! And Go Cubs! Hey...I'm allowed to have both an NL and AL team) so we had to go to a Rockies game. Their stadium is amazing. The Rockies ended up losing in extra innings (heartbreaking), but the experience was so much fun! I'm hoping to go to every MLB stadium so this helped me knock another off the list! I could be a Rockies fan, I think...I mean I know I look good in purple. What more reason is there?

Personally, I'm not a beer drinker. I just can't get behind the taste. I would rather have a cocktail or a glass of wine. However, when in Denver you must check out the New Belgium Brewery. Denver is known for all of it's fine craft beers and this place is no exception. It's a little outside of Denver in Ft. Collins, but it's worth the trip (even if you don't drink beer). If you are a beer drinker...get excited! They give you 3, 4, 5, 6...yes 6 free beers while on the tour! Plus it's fun to learn how things are made (at least the nerd in me thinks so). A bit of some advice ahead! I'm so glad we did! The tours fill up so fast that people wait around all day long and NEVER GET IN if they don't book ahead!

Denver was just so much fun! I can't wait to go back! Hopefully next time I go, I won't be battling the flu...oh yeah...that was just a whole other mess...

Thanks for reading, dolls! Come back for more!
